People often ask what it's like to work at a luxury salon in Las Vegas. The answer is: exhilarating, fast, and deeply personal. Every chair holds a different story. Here's a look inside a typical day at VegasGlamHair.
9:00 AM — The First Chair
We open with a balayage appointment. A regular client, a local attorney who's been coming in for three years. We catch up while I mix her formula — a warm brunette with honey-blonde pieces that frame her face. The salon is quiet at this hour. The steam from a fresh espresso rises near the reception desk.
11:30 AM — A Walk-In Color Consultation
A hotel guest from the Wynn walks in — she's in Vegas for a conference and impulsively decides she wants to go blonde. We do a thorough consultation: assess her natural color (a 4N dark brown), check her hair's elasticity and porosity, and set realistic expectations. We book her in for a full balayage starting at 1pm.
"The consultation is the most important part of any color service. Five minutes of listening saves two hours of correcting." — Isabelle Fontaine
1:00 PM — The Transformation
Our newest colorist, Margot, takes the conference guest's appointment. Watching Margot work is like watching someone paint — deliberate, confident strokes, perfect saturation at every point. By 3pm the hair is toned, dried, and styled. The client cries (happy tears). It happens more than you'd think.
4:30 PM — Bridal Trial
Our final appointment is a bridal trial for a wedding this Saturday. The bride wants soft, romantic waves with a half-up style. We work through three different variations before she settles on the one. We photograph every angle for reference on the day. This is one of my favorite services — the weight of the occasion makes everything feel a little more meaningful.
